Welcome to Mindful Movement Yoga and Fitness. I am Shawna Kleban and am thrilled to bring my sweet little garage yoga studio to you.

Because of its unique transformation, the lotus has long been regarded as a symbol of enlightenment, purity and triumph over obstacles. The lotus was and is a token of perseverance and hope. The flower represents our ability to come from a place of suffering into the light, much like the lotus, whose roots start in the muddy earth and rise up through the water to the light of the sun. This reminds us that we too can rise up from any difficult situation and reconnect to the light that surrounds us.

My Journey
Shawna Kleban
Head stands, arm balances, strong warriors and down dogging it, THIS IS ME. I am also a mama, friend, sports fanatic, book reader, singer of hip hop, lover of cooking and wine and all things YOGA. I am a certified RYT-200 yoga teacher but have been practicing yoga for 18 years and I can't wait to share this light with you.
I have always loved physical activities, so the thought of practicing yoga always seemed too slow, but after multiple knee surgeries I wanted to bring safe movement back into my body. I resisted any form of stillness but found that practicing yoga gifted me with the tools to feel strong in my body physically and mentally.

I teach yoga with a vigorous but fun creative flow. With a focus on alignment and moving with awareness, my classes will cultivate stability while increasing flexibility. I strive to create movement that feels good in your body. Don't be surprised if you find yourself upside down or trying on baby grasshopper.

Yoga is freedom and release. I truly believe this. My yoga mat has became a place of stability, comfort and healing. This past year has been met with many changes and unexpected turns but when I feel restless, stiff, sad or just ready to move, yoga is always there.

"It is not about having a flexible body; flexibility is a wonderful side-effect of practicing yoga but flexibility is a state of mind. A flexible mind is awake, truly alive and untouched by old thinking patterns. It is free.
